Located on the southern coast of Crete, the Agios Pavlos Yoga Retreat offers accommodation of different sizes to visitors and students of yoga. Each villa takes advantage of the sloped landscape, organised as a series of staggered terraces, and allowing for an unimpeded view of the Mediterranean. Inspired by local materials and construction techniques, the settlement is conceived as an extension of the rugged terrain, as the stone quarried from the site becomes a characteristic material in new construction.
Central to the complex is a yoga and spa centre. With is sunken courtyard serving as the main entrance throughout, the visitors are led into the landscape then confronted with the powerful view of the horizon.
